Miss. Shannon: Assistant Teacher

Hi, I’m Miss. Shannon!

I’m so excited to be a part of the amazing team at Maple Hill Preschool! Before joining the classroom, I spent years as a licensed veterinary technician, helping care for furry friends of all shapes and sizes. Now, I’ve traded in my stethoscope for storybooks and finger paint, and I couldn’t be happier!

I live in Castleton with my husband, our two daughters, three usually well-behaved dogs, and one very tricky cat. Our preschool journey began in Fall 2022 when my oldest daughter, Aria, started at Maple Hill Preschool. We immediately fell in love with the warm, welcoming community of parents and teachers. I joined the Preschool Board that year, and the following year, my youngest, Cadence, joined the fun. Now, she’s in the 4-year-old class, and Aria has moved on to Kindergarten!

After two years as a board member and an active part of the preschool community, I was thrilled when the opportunity came up to join Miss. Kelly as her Assistant Teacher. Watching these little learners grow, explore, and take pride in their creations has been an absolute joy. Every day brings new adventures, laughter, and plenty of messy, hands-on fun—just the way learning should be!

I’m so grateful to be a part of this incredible preschool family and can’t wait for another fantastic year of learning and play!
